Jake, Annie, Katie and myself planned a dinner on the top of angels rest overlooking the Columbia river. We complete the 2.5 mile hike just as the sun sets. Fires that are burning on Mt Hood have produced hazy skies that make for great sunsets and sunrises.

Backpacking in the North Cascades
I eagerly accepted the invitation from Caroline and dustin my old Appalachian Trail hiking buddies to go backpacking over labor day weekend, just southeast of North Cascades National Park in WA. I happened to be working up in the San Juan islands north of Seattle and got dropped off at Caroline's House(haha) on Friday. The drive there was almost as nice as the hiking itself. Once you drive east through the towering Cascades the climate drastically changes from evergreens and mountains to dry, and arid rolling hills with lots of farms land.
Dustin Caroline and I sitting atop one of Washington states top 100 peaks. We climbed three in all over our 30+ mile hike.
Upper Eagle Lake
Lower Eagle Lake
We were trying to get a picture of us all mid air but timed it wrong and took one pre leap.
Smoke trout for dinner!
