Day 7: Brunswick, GA

Chandler and I arrived at Hostel in the Forest Thursday evening. There are no words to describe the vibe at Hostel in the Forest and I can say that it was far different than I expected after view the website. It was interesting and I definitely recommend friends trying it out for themselves. It is run by some serious hippies, but everyone was friendly and hospitable.
Every night, the staff prepares a delicious vegan dinner, complete with veggies from the garden. Thursday night they made a veggie sort of crab cake rolled in pesto, served two types of hummus, a wonderful fruity chutney, fresh salad with homemade vinaigrette, and wild brown rice. For dessert we have banana "ice cream" with blueberries. I was tired and went to bed early in Chandler and my "honeymoon hut" lol. but C stayed up and was entertained by the drum circle.
The facilities are super creative and sustainable. There are two completely exposed outdoor showers that are quite cool, composting toilets of course, a lake with a beautiful glass yoga building, a sweat lodge, a craft house, a library of donated books, a labyrinth for meditations, a chicken coop, and a couple of common areas.
We slept peacefully in the cold. The following morning Chandler and I made ducks-in-a-pond, his specialty, with eggs from the coop and headed to the Okenfenokee Swamp Park.
