Chandler and i didn't see any part of Biloxi worth talking about but the drive to New Orleans was short! We took 90 into the city instead of I-10 and we immediately came across a little bayou we had to stop and check out. It was very serene and there was a definite temperature change for the better. In the bayou we saw little otter looking animals, along with beautiful cranes, herrings, and pelicans. While we were out on the dock, Chandler's friend Kyle called and gave us directions to his home. Kyle lives in New Orleans with his NOLA native girlfriend Candy and they have been kind enough to allow us to stay with them, even on Valentine's Day ;)
Chandler and I drove to meet up with them at their home and shortly afterwards went downtown to get some lunch.
Kyle and Candy showed us around. They took us through the French Market, we had margaritas at the original Margaritaville, ate beignets at Cafe du Monde, watch break dancers perform on the street, drank purple slushies at Lafitte's blacksmith shop and bar, and saw all the craziness that is Burbon Street, even on a Sunday afternoon! I don't have the vocabulary to describe New Orleans, all I can say is that it is the opposite of boring. Needless to say, by the end of the night I was close to overstimulated and too tired to think.
Now, after a wonderful night's sleep I hope to head to Audubon Park for a jog that might help erase some of that doughy-fried goodness and alcohol from my system.
Happy Valentine's Day!!
