Day 26: On to the Woodlands, TX

We left Houston yesterday for the Woodlands, where Chandler's Aunt Sue lives (Meredith and Paige's Mother) with her family. It was sad saying goodbye to little Rowan and sweet baby Boone (almost 13 lbs now!!) but guess what?! Rowan is coming to stay at her grandmother Sue's house for the weekend :) So we will be seeing her again later today.

The Woodlands is pretty, especially for a city because it is illegal to cut trees down without a permit. Therefore, much of everything is hidden within the trees. Even chains like McDonald's can't post any billboards or cut any trees down.
Aunt Sue so kindly welcomed us with a very very special surprise. She bought us tickets to the musical Wicked!!!!! Now, that in and of itself would be a surprise for anyone, but for me... this is like a dream come true. I have longed to see Wicked since it's debut on Broadway and just haven't had the chance to go (anyone who knows me is aware of my obsession with the Wizard of Oz). I found out months ago that it would be on tour in San Antonio at the same time we would be driving cross country. So making a stop there within it's two weeks showtime has been one of our only scheduled events. But... when I went to purchase tickets yesterday for this coming up weekend- almost EVERYTHING was sold out. Only a couple- way out of our price range- tickets were left. Meredith must have relayed that info on to her mother, who decided to give them to us for a gift of sorts. A very very special amzing gift!! We are so excited and will be "off to see the wizard" Saturday morning :))))))

I had the pleasure of meeting Sue's youngest children, Will and McAllister last night and we all went out for a Japanese Hibachi dinner. It was such a treat.
