Words can't even describe the grandeur of a drive we took yesterday, so I will let the photos do as much as they can (which still can't do those beautiful Colorado mountains justice), but our favorite part was the view of the sweet little town of Silverton, which you can see below, nestled in the valley of these tremendous mountains.
After a breath-taking hour and a half drive, we arrived at Orvis Springs. We were so happy to spend another afternoon enjoying the relaxing natural mineral waters that spurt up from the earth :)
Orvis is a wonderful clothing-optional (!!!) hot spring fairyland. They have two private pools, a sauna, and four outdoor pools hidden throughout the gardens, nested right underneath the gianormous snow capped San Juan mountains. It is located in between the towns Ouray and Ridgway, where there is ample pasture land and steers abound. For obvious reasons, no cameras were allowed on the premises so I only have pics of the outside. Check out their website for more pics- it was great :)
We made the decision following the sunset to camp near Telluride, so we drove another 45 min to the ski down and picked up some yummy pizza at Brown Dog Cafe downtown (obviously named after Rosoce :) ). The town was cute at night with lots of twinkling lights, but we didn't understand the magnificence of the surrounding scenery until we woke up this a.m.
Now, we are at Steaming Bean watching the flurries come down! Hopefully we will get a chance to ride the tramway later :)
