We left San Antonio only to head back up to Austin for a couple days to have Frank worked on. Again, we weren't upset to have to spend more time in Austin! We visited with Chandler's cousin Paige Thursday night after eating Morracan Vegan Burgers for dinner. The following morning, the 11th, we jogged around Lake Austin and headed on to Kickapoo!
Kickapoo was crazy! It was the first desert I have been to. The roads out there literally go through farms. Farmers keep the animals in with cow traps in the roads so you have to watch out for livestock. We came across some sheep close to the entrance of the park. Chandler decided to test there quickness by getting out of the car and chase them. They ran at first, but as soon as he turned his back they started towards him :) lol.
We were greeted to the park by some armadillo and deer. They were all over! We parked Frank in the most shaded spot we could find and made dinner on the camping stove. During dinner a large deer decided he wanted to join us. He scarred the crap out of me! We could hear him snorting in the bushes right near us!!
The following morning we hiked out through the desert. The temperature was mild and made for a perfect day :)
